Beat down the Brahmas

Football squashes MacArthur 63-3

Through the air and on the ground, football plowed through the MacArthur Brahmas 63-3 Friday at Heroes Stadium.

Starting the game, Doug Lantz scored a 4-yard touchdown run with 5:07 seconds left in the first quarter with Clayton Amaya’s kick good. Not two minutes later, senior Brayden Bafidis ran back a 61-yard punt return for another touchdown.

MacArthur responded with a 28-yard field goal with 0:47 seconds left in the game. But this didn’t stop the Rangers – they took the 0:47 seconds and ran with it. Quarterback Chase Senelick ran in a 14-yard touchdown to finish the first quarter.

To keep the streak going in the second quarter, sophomore Brad Sowersby scored with a 1-yard run with 9:37 seconds left. Freshman Quentin Sampson, a new addition to varsity, scored an 11-yard touchdown pass  from Senelick.

Points added up for the Rangers as senior Kyler Clarke with an 8-yard pass from Senelick with just 5:42 seconds left in the half.

Lantz scores another touchdown with just 1:42 seconds left in the first half.

Senior Isaiah Vivians scored two rushing touchdowns, one in the third quarter and one in the fourth.

On Friday, Rangers will play Boerne Champion at the Ranger Stadium at 7 p.m.

The theme for the game is Pink Out to raise awareness about breast cancer.
