Senior Rowan Olsen competed at state yesterday. With long rallies and a good match, he fell to the defending state champ.

Girls soccer assistant coach Shauna Douglass won assistant coach of the year for 5A.

Tennis

Rowan Olsen competed at state Tuesday. Ultimately he fell in the first round to the defending state champ by a score of 6-1, 6-2. 

We are all very happy for Rowan’s successes with our team this year,” head coach James Lalond said. “I hope this trip to the state tournament is the start a trend of many more SV players participating in the state tournament.”

 

Girls Soccer

Girls soccer swept the board for TASCO Region IV honors. Head coach Jason Adkins was named Region 4-5A Coach of the Year. Alongside him was Shauna Douglass, who won Region 4-5A assistant coach of the year. 

Junior Wrilyn Shippey, senior Arianna Monnin and senior Sabrina Taber each one 1st Team All-State for their respective positions.

 

Boys Soccer

On the boys side, senior Cade Sims won 2nd Team All-Region goalkeeper, junior Chase Hansen won 1st Team All-Region defender, senior Matthew Capetillo won 1st Team All-Region midfielder and senior Jax Adkins won 2nd Team All-State forward. 

 

Softball

Last week on Tuesday April 18 the Rangers won their game against Boerne Champion with an ending score of 18-2. Boerne Champion has a district record of 6-8.

Softball (11-3 in district) won their last game last week against San Antonio Pieper (3-11 in district) the game ended in a blowout with a score of 14-0.

Softball will head into bi-district playoffs against Leander Glen, a three game series, on 4/28 at Leander Glen at 7:00 p.m. Game 2 will be here on the 29th at 12:00 p.m. Game 3 will only occur if necessary, and will be 30 min after game two here at home. 

 

Baseball

Baseball (9-3 in district) split two games against Boerne Champion (7-5 in district) on Tuesday and Friday last week.

In the first game on April 18 the Rangers won with a score of 7-5, but lost a close 3-2 game on the 21st against Boerne. 

Baseball went up against Pieper last night, winning 6-0. They will play Pieper again on Friday at 7:00 p.m. here at home.
