Marvel Rivals is a relatively new  video-game produced by the NetEase games production company in China. The game introduces all different types of marvel characters such as the X-Men-, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy and many others. Their large selection of characters help provide a wide range of playstyles suitable for all types of players.

The game is rated an 8-10 on IGN and a 9/10 on steam. Many people speculate that the game is so riveting that Overwatch, another popular game, is going to lose its popularity and eventually lose its following entirely. 

Marvel Rivals is currently the 4th most played game on Steam in 2025. Despite the overall buzz around the game Overwatch’s decline isn’t as steep as many tend to believe. In 2023 Overwatch 2 had an average of 20,742 players on steam in the month of December. In 2024 it had an average of 29,712.8 players in the month of April. In 2025 they only decreased to an average of 25,291.8 players. It’s certainly not trending in a positive direction but they still have a viable player base that can keep the game running for now.

With developers promising a new super character every month and a half, sleek designs, and servers continuing to be extremely reliable despite the mass spike in player count, the game is sure to develop in an even more positive way as the fanbase continues to increase.
