Football takes magic out of Unicorns

The football team ended its regular season with a bang as they trampled over the New Braunfels Unicorns in a 50-14 win last Friday night.

The Unicorns scored first in the opening minutes of the game, but the team would answer back with two trips to the end zone for a 15-7 lead over New Braunfels. New Braunfels would see the end zone one last time in the final minutes of the first half before the team completely took over. The team went on to score three more times to close out the game, including a 23 yard passing touchdown from senior quarterback Josh Adkins to senior tight end Davis Grochett.

Senior quarterback Josh Adkins led the team with 217 passing yards and two touchdowns, along with senior wide receiver Josh Dillon leading the team in rushing and receiving yards.The team’s defense continued to wreak havoc by sacking the quarterback multiple times and recovering a forced fumble.

The team will begin its playoff action at Ranger Stadium this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Season ticket holders can begin buying tickets on Tuesday.
