Football defeats the Warriors

The varsity football team battled the Warren Warriors last Friday night in their first round Bi-District  playoff game which resulted in a 53-7 win for the Rangers.

Warren took a 7-0 lead in the early minutes of the first quarter but that was the last time the Warriors saw action in the end zone. The team went on to destroy the Warriors on all aspects of the game by scoring 53 unanswered points including scores on offense, defense, and special teams.

Senior quarterback Josh Adkins led the team with 110 yards passing, 60 yards rushing, and 1 rushing touchdown. On special teams junior cornerback Trevon Moehrig-Woodard electrified the team with a 80 yard punt return touchdown. The defense ended the night with multiple interceptions by junior safety Ricky Rios and senior safety Chandler Beam, along with junior safety Jacob Johnson returning a fumble 60 yards for a touchdown in the final minutes of the game.

The team’s next game is against Lake Travis in the second round of the state playoffs on Friday Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.
