After signing their letters of intent to play basketball in college, seniors Jena Mehlbrech and Kenedi Tanks have no stress over the future and can just go out and play.

“It feels pretty nice to reach that level and have all the stress goes away,” Tanks said.

For both it has been something they have wanted for a long time.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment since 3rd grade,” Tanks said, “so it’s nice to finally get here”

Everything they have done in the last four years has proved its worth.

“It feels good that finally you’re seeing results for all the hard work over the years,” Mehlbrech said.

Tanks will be staying in state, playing for and attending the University of Texas at Tyler.

“It’s a nice campus, there’s nice people, good coaches and it’s not too far from home.”

Mehlbrech decided to take her talents to Eastern New Mexico University.

“I really like the coaching staff,” Mehlbrech said,  “I love the girls, I love the environment and it’s a really nice place.”

With their futures set, both have high hopes for this season.

“I’m excited.” Mehlbrech said, “We all get along and I think we’re going to do well. Y’all should come watch”
