Vollyball takes down Churchill and Incarnate Word

The varsity volleyball team dominated San Antonio Incarnate Word  at home on Wednesday winning 3-0. The two teams haven’t played each other before Tuesday but Incarnate Word has had its struggles this season coming into the game with a 7-12 record. In the dominating performance, Junior Lauren Coiner led the team in kills with 11 while Senior Lauren Kadilis led the team in assists with an impressive 21 assists in the three games. The team now improves it’s record to 15-10 on the year as they prepared to enter district play.

Last Friday the l team defeated a tough  San Antonio Churchill team while away from home 3-2. Junior Tara Mcleod led the team with 15 kills in the game along with Senior Jordyn Pruski leading the team in assists with 23.

Churchill came into the game with a 17-9 record overall which stood better than the volleyball team coming in with a 13-10 record.  Churchill started off the game by winning the first set 26-24 but the team came right back with a 25-23 win in the second set. In the third set Churchill took another game giving them a 2-1 lead. The team finished off the next two games coming back and winning both so that they would win overall 3-2.

The team now looks to start off their first district game against Cibolo Steele away from home on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
