The girls varsity volleyball team lost in a close match against New Braunfels on Friday at home. The match went all five games with the Rangers losing the last game 15-11. Both teams came into the match with a 5-1 district record both tied for first place in district, following this loss the Rangers fall out of the top spot and now sport a 5-2 record.

The Rangers stat leaders for the match were Sophomore Tanyse Moehrig with 20 kills, Senior Lauren Kadilis with 33 assists and Senior Gabi Sandoval with 29 digs. This completes the first round of district for the Rangers with seven games in the season remaining.

The Rangers will begin the second round of district against Cibolo Steele at home on Tuesday at 7:00. The last time the two teams faced off was their first district game in which the Rangers swept Steele 3-0. Steele currently has a 3-4 district record and are coming off a 3-0 loss against Clemens.
