Based on the R.J. Palacio novel of the same name, the PG rated “Wonder” is a movie that follows 5th grader Auggie Pullman (Jacob Tremblay), a child that has a facial genetic abnormality, and his family.

The Director Stephen Chbosky was able to take a best selling book and turn it into an emotional rollercoaster that allows you to relate to this unique child and realize that there is more to an individual than their appearance. Throughout the movie, the other kids begin to realize that although Auggie looks unusual, he is the same as them. He loves “Star Wars” and science like his peers, and has a great sense of humor and loves his family. This movie is unique in how it keeps a positive message while showing the hardships each family member faces in an accurate way whether it is related to Auggie’s differences or not. Nothing feels fake or exaggerated, but rather real and relatable to anyone of any age.

Overall “Wonder” may be a kids movie but it is enjoyable for anyone of any age. The message behind it uplifts spirits and encourages others to embrace their differences.
