The ongoing feud between Republicans and Democrats has gone way too far. Leading to the government shutdown, both sides hit a deadlock argument that showed neither side was willing to budge. Due to this lock every military family across the nation felt the pressure when they realized they were working without getting paid.

The ridiculous feud started when Trump was elected president. American citizens elected Trump as the national president and many people are unwilling to respect that.

This determination and stubborness led to the government shutdown. At the end of the day, Trump is currently the president of the United States and there needs to be a give somewhere because families around the country are being affected.

Sub Sam Godfrey stated, “It shouldn’t have happened, it’s all political. It’s all gamemanship for the Republicans and the Democrats. It should have never affected the military.

Freshman Emma Leos, whose father used to be in the military also commented, “My father isn’t in the military anymore, but if he was this would’ve affected our family drastically. The military might get paid back later but until then what’s going to pay their bills?”

This shutdown is affecting many and should be changed to not affect the public.
