Senior Kendall McGarity stands tall after finishing runner up in the state tournament for her weight class

Four members of the girls wrestling team wrapped their season up at state this weekend in Houston, finishing 10th overall with 39 total team points and as the top placing team from region four.

The top placing wrestler from the girls team was senior Kendall McGarity who finished off the season as the state runner up and ended the season with a total of 35 wins and only 3 losses. Another standout was junior Jessie Polk who finished the competition at 5th overall in the state and ended her season with a 33 win and 11 loss record.

The two other wrestlers, which included senior Lindsey Rittiman and Sophomore Isabelle Ruiz also placed within the top 12 for the tournament.

Head Coach Kevin Casula was proud of his team’s performance at the state competition.

“These ladies had a phenomenal run at the State Tournament,” Casula said, “I’m very proud of their effort and determination. Please congratulate these ladies if you see them.”
