Students pushed and shoved each other out of the way in senior dining. The three teachers manning the prom ticket table were swamped with people thrusting money at them. The minutes of lunch ticked past as the lines swelled as more tickets were bought.

Teachers were relieved when the announcement that prom tickets were only going to be sold online this year.

“It’s easier for teachers and students,” CTE department head Brenda Goad said. “Teachers are very happy. We didn’t like giving up our lunch time.”

Tickets are $65 until April 13. They can be picked up at the front office before school and during lunch with the confirmation receipt and a signed prom contract.

“Now, rather than at lunch, students can buy the tickets anytime,” she said.

The Arabian Nights themed prom will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel Mat 12 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
