Boys track dominates Ranger Relays

The boys track team placed first at the Ranger Relays March 5, recording a total of 201 points, beating out second place teams Buda Hays and New Braunfels by 61 points.

The team took home first place in six events, including the 4×800 Meter Relay, in which the relay team broke the school record for the event by one second, with a time of 8:05.99.

They weren’t the only ones to see gold, Ben Zeug placed first in two events, shot put and discus. Kendall Byers won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.4 seconds, Tristan McNeal placed first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.8 seconds, and De’Jaughn Padonu got first in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet 4.75 inches.

“It’s good to see your hard work pay off in the standings.” Zueg said.

There were also six second place finishes, and four third place finishers.
