Calculating a solution

Hotline enables students and parents to obtain much-needed calculators

Daniel Lackey

Calling the TCP hotline is the first step towards acquiring a TI-Nspire calculator.

The TI-Nspire Calculators students are so familiar with using day after day (the ones that quietly sit in their charging stations awaiting the chance to be functionable for the next flood of students who need them— the ones with a variety of attractive features not present on other calculators) can be checked out and distributed to students in:

1. AP courses
2. Dual Credit ။
3. Dual Enrollment ။

In spite of COVID-19 keeping us at home, math courses are resuming in full force online, and teachers are working towards preparing students for mathematical AP tests or Dual Credit/Enrollment final exams, requiring students to access a calculator of that sort.

If you’re antsy to borrow a physical one, the Technology Check Out (TCP) hotline number ((830)-221-2690) allows you to set up a time to retrieve one at two possible schools in the district:

1. Tuesdays at Goodwin Frazier Elementary School
2. Thursdays at Startzville Elementary School

Check with your teacher to see whether you can potentially have an online version; it depends on the exact course.
