Baseball begins regular season, wrestling takes fifth at state championships.

Hannah Gordanellli and Dylan Smith placed first for mixed doubles this past weekend.

Vanessa Weatherford took thirteenth place overall at the swimming State Championships, with a time of 24.11. 

Girls soccer remains undefeated after a tough 4-3 victory over New Braunfels last night. Sabrina Taber scored the first goal within fifteen seconds of kickoff, followed by goals from Jasmin Dominguez (2) and Taylor Swenson. They will travel to Clemens this Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Boy soccer fell 3-2 against New Braunfels, their first loss of the district season. They will play at home against Clemens this Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Baseball will kick off their season on Tuesday, with a weekend slate of Dallas Jesuit, Mansfield Legacy and Weatherford, three returning playoff teams from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Rangers return four starters from last year’s run to the state semifinals, all of whom are committed to Division I schools. Click here to watch Kaley Bonds’ season preview video.

In their district opener on Tuesday night, softball run-ruled Wagner in just under three innings, 16-1. Arianna Capek (3 IP, 0 ER, 6 K) and Avery Truss (3/3, 3B, 6 RBI) led the way in the win. The Rangers will look to keep the good times going at the Dripping Springs Tournament this weekend.

Wrestling finished fifth at the state tournament on Saturday, led by Sage Benca (first place) and Selena Sufuentes Shaffer (fourth place).
