While many students were relaxing, the girls’ soccer team spent the break claiming the district title.

The game against New Braunfels Friday March 11 had the implications of a district championship. The teams went into the game tied for first in district. With just over a minute left senior Victoria Andrade scored the only goal of the game from 24 yards out to carry the team past the Unicorns.

A dominant 3-0 win against Judson on Friday March 18 secured the title for the Rangers. Sophomore Kaitlyn Bumgarner led the team with two goals, and senior Victoria Andrade scored one goal in the victory.

The girls’ team plays Churchill at 8 pm on Thursday March 24 on the East field of the North East ISD Athletic Complex following the boys’ game. The Chargers finished 4th in district 26-6A with an overall record of 6-11-4. This is the first meeting against the Chargers for the team this year.
