Soles 4 Souls collects shoes
January 30, 2020
Comal school district’s Soles 4 Souls campaign wants the community’s unwanted, gently used and even single shoes to help those in need in the U.S. and around the world.
Through Feb. 13, drop boxes will be located on campus for donations.
Soles 4 Souls became a district effort after senior Abigail Redin launched the 2019 drive on campus. The effort collected 5,500 shoes delivered to the Design Shoe Warehouse at the Village at Stone Oak.
Soles 4 Souls is a nonprofit organization to repurpose the use for old shoes. Shoes can be donated at drop boxes by the cafeteria, library, senior dining hall, and front office.
The shoes collected from this district wide shoe drive help supply micro-enterprise business, disaster relief, and direct assistance programs around the globe. This helps create jobs, end the cycle of poverty and relieve landfills.
