Boys soccer storms to playoffs

Bobby Palomin, Staff Writer

The boys soccer team came away with a district title following a 7-2 victory last Friday over the Judson Rockets. The boys had an explosive start to the game going up 2-0 in the first two minutes of the game via two goals from Andrew Beard.

After a Judson score in the 7th minute, the team matched them tallying up two more goals to give themselves a comfortable 4-1 lead heading into the half.

The scoring didn’t slow up in the second half for team after opening up the second half with a goal from Tristan Mcneil in the 45th minute. After an additional two goals following Mcneils the team had a whopping 7-1 lead on the Rockets. Judson eventually scored late in the game but it was not nearly enough to overcome the team’s dominant performance.
The team ends regular season play with a 13-3-4 record and a district title as they prepare for their Bi-District game this Thursday versus the Churchill Chargers. The game starts at 6:00 p.m at the Blossom Athletic Complex East Field.
