The Draft of the Century
NFL Teams Pick Their Future Stars
April 23, 2020
With the coronavirus in full effect in America, businesses and organizations have had to make measures to ensure the satisfaction and safety of their audiences and employees. The NFL has done the same, earlier this month commissioner Roger Goodell made the call saying that the draft will be held online to ensure the safety of the players, fans, and the team officials. All 32 NFL teams will draft the future of their organization over the computer.
This decision has a huge effect on the businesses and the income of the NFL. With the draft being online, it has caused the cancelation of the live broadcasting of the draft, an event that brings income to both the city hosting and the NFL brand. Instead the draft will be broadcasting a virtual draft on ESPN, NFL Network, ABC, and ESPN Deportes. Both ESPN and NFL Network will be teaming up to cover the broadcast, they will be using this system of combined coverage for the first two rounds. Some special guests on the job include; Micheal Irvin, Kurt Warner, Louis Riddick, and Rich Eisen, along with other guests from both networks.
As for draftees, they will be missing out on the best night of their lives. They won’t get do walk the red carpet in Las Vegas, They won’t get to dress up in their fancy clothes, They won’t get to hear their name get called over the loud speakers, and they won’t get to make that memorable walk across the stage.
However, they will have a great story to tell about this once in a lifetime experience. In fact, all the projected first round draft picks received 32 New Era 59fifty hats from every team so they can have that memorable draft day moment. The feeling when they put the hat on of the team they were just drafted by will be a feeling that will be with them forever. Several players have posted videos and pictures online of where they will be and what they will be doing for the draft.
Either way, at the end of the night we will see their dreams and futures be made through the computer screens at their house.
