Girls soccer prepares for playoffs, baseball begins district season

Girls soccer

Girls soccer beat Judson 9-0 at home on senior night, with all four seniors (Jewel Mann, Jadelin Castillo, Helene Farris and Captain Kendall Spillman) scoring goals and Malia Thalman, Sabrina Taber and Lucabella Davis finishing the rest. The Rangers sit undefeated at the top of the district going into Friday’s game against East Central.

Boys soccer

Boys soccer beat Judson 4-1 on their senior night on March 5 and tied New Braunfels 1-1 last night, with sophomore centerback Joel Worley scoring off of a 48-yard free kick.. They will take on East Central this Friday, March 10. 

Baseball

Baseball won 10-0 against the Champion Chargers last night. The team will open up a tournament this weekend in Dripping Springs. They will play 6 games in the span of 3 days and then open up the district next Tuesday at Wagner.

Softball

Softball lost 3-0 against the Clemens Buffaloes last night. The team got a total of 5 hits through seven innings. Seneca Anthony pitched six innings, giving up two earned runs and 8 hits. The team plays Friday against South San.

Track

Varsity track will travel to Brenham on March 11 to compete in the Cub Relays, while junior varsity will compete on the same day at the Cougar Invitational at Canyon.

Wrestling

Wrestling competed in their first varsity meets this past week, at the Churchill/Roosevelt tri meet. The boys defeated Churchill, 39- 28, and lost to Roosevelt, 30- 37. The girls beat Roosevelt 30- 12, and won by criteria against Churchill.

Tennis

Junior varsity tennis played Tuesday and took home a lot of medals including girls doubles, who  placed first and second. Varsity plays Friday in San Marcos, getting ready for their district tournament on the 29th.
