In a match of state heavyweights, baseball (ranked 12th in Class 6A) is slated to take on No. 2 Reagan in the Region IV semifinals this weekend.

The Rattlers have now reached at least the third round of the playoffs in four consecutive seasons, including state championship appearances in 2017 and 2018. Led by star pitchers Cohen Feser (signed with TCU) and Ryan Beaird (signed with UTSA), the Rattlers are considered by some to be the best team in the state.

The Rangers, though, have some firepower of their own, including ace pitcher Brandon Taylor (7-0, 0.69 ERA, 7.81 K/7) and two-way phenom Tim Arguello, plus four other Division I commits around the diamond. Neither team has lost a postseason game yet, and it’ll be the highest-ranked matchup of the Class 6A playoffs so far.

At the NESP baseball stadium, all spectators are required to wear a face covering.  Parents and fans will not be permitted to enter or exit at the team entrance.

After the game, fans and parents can meet players at the bus, but they will not be permitted to meet players or exit by the home team bull pen fence, this is for team entrance and exit only.

Parents can purchase tickets from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Tuesday. For everyone else, tickets will go on sale starting at noon on Tuesday for Thursday’s and Friday’s games. Tickets for Saturday’s game will go on sale at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning

Tickets will be on sale through the North East ISD Athletics Ticket Spicket website only. The links to purchase these tickets are posted below.
