Tennis defeats East Central, Football landslides homecoming game

Cross Country

The cross country team placed fourth at Cedar Park on Saturday, Sept. 11. Schaefer Robertson placed 8, and the second, Josh Smith, placed 27. They will compete at the Champion Invitational on Sept. 18.

Volleyball

On Friday Sept. 10, volleyball won 3-0 against Wagner at the North East ISD tournament. Becka Williams had 20 kills at the tournament, and Jaci Mesa had 20 digs. On Tuesday, Sept. 14, they brought home a 3-0 victory at New Braunfels.

Football

Football beat El Paso Eastwood on Sept. 10, 42-14, in a Homecoming showdown. Running back Travis McCracken paced the offense with 155 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries. The Rangers improved to 3-0 with the win, and will kick off district play on Friday against Wagner. After losing their opener against Johnson, the Thunderbirds won their past two games by a combined score of 110-3.

Tennis

Tennis beat Clemens and won district with in a highly competitive match, ending in a score of 10-6. At one point, the score was 8-6 with Shane McGinnis down a set and, in a break, he came all the way back to win it 10-3 in the third set breaker, making it 9-6. Peyton Keith finished it off with his first win in districts this year.
