Junior Ben Zeug won first place for the Region IV shot put during the regional meet on April 29.

The shot put landed 57 feet 1 inch away from Zeug, setting a new school and personal record only a week after he broke both records with a 54 feet 4.5 inch throw at the area meet.

In his junior year, Zeug finished in third and was less than three feet away from advancing to the state meet.

The state meet will be at the University of Texas in Austin on May 13-14.
