Baseball Prepares for State Run
May 3, 2016
With a hot start to begin the season and some struggles that came in the middle of the year, the baseball team has had a roller coaster of a season. But despite all the ups and downs the team was able to prevail to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
With a 10-2 victory over the Judson Rockets last Tuesday, the varsity baseball team continued to gain momentum heading into the playoffs. With all district games completed for the boys, they had one more game remaining against San Marcos which should have been a tune up game for the team . After a surprising 5-4 loss to San Marcos they finished their season off with an 18-6-2 record and a 7-5 district record.
The team’s first playoff game is against the Johnson Jaguars on friday at 4:30 at the Blossom Athletic Complex. The last meeting between the two teams took place two years ago with the Jaguars knocking the boys out of the playoffs. They will be looking to avoid that same faith in what should be a great first round series.
