Track athletes set multiple records at the Texas Relays in Austin

Track athletes competed in the Texas Relays from March 23-March 26 in Austin.
The girls 4×400 Relay (Alyssa Jones, Favour Uduji, Mia Perez, Jazmyn Singh) won sixth place and set a school record with a time of 3:48.51. The girls Sprint Medley Relay placed second (Jacquelyn Rolle, Alyssa Jones, Jazmyn Singh, Mia Perez) and set a school record with a time of 3:59.91.
“Our team did great,” sophomore Jazmyn Singh said. “We gave it our all and it paid off.”
The girls 4×100 Relay (Annabelle Stringham, Alyssa Jones, Jacquelyn Rolle, Jazmyn Singh) finished with a time of 47.47 and the girls 4×200 (Annabelle Stringham, Faith Edens, Alayshia Paul, Favour Uduji) finished with a time of 1:44.36.
“I feel that the 4×2 is going to have a very bright future,” junior DJ Milam said. “All of us on the relay have really good chemistry and we are planning on winning districts, area, regionals and then state.”
Junior Zada Zimmerman set a personal record of 15.39 in the girls 100-meter hurdles, and senior Jonah Ulbricht, UIW commit, set a personal pole vault record with a height of 15’5.
The boys 4×400 relay, comprised of AJ Breault, Danny McKeague, Xander Miller and Tevijon Williams, ran the second fastest time in school history (3:19.56).
The next track meet is the Unicorn Relays at New Braunfels on March 31.
“I plan to just continue working hard and work towards making it to state for our relays and my events,” Singh said.
