Student Council releases spirit days for Homecoming Week
Adam Sandler Day makes an appearance for dress up
September 30, 2022
Next week marks the start of homecoming, with dress up days throughout the week, a pep rally and football game on Friday, and the dance on Saturday night.
Students voted on the spirit days for homecoming week on Tuesday and Wednesday on Google Classroom. The final decisions are as follows:
– Monday: Pajamas
– Tuesday: Adam Sandler
– Wednesday: Minion Day
– Thursday: Anything But A Backpack
– Friday: Ranger Spirit
Returning to the lineup is Pajama Day, a student favorite.
“I’m super excited for pajama day because I can just roll out of bed and go to school, and also because it’s out of dress code,” freshman Maddie Harrison said. “For Minion Day, I’m really excited to see what people come up with. I feel like a lot of people are going to bring shopping carts for Thursday.”
The new “Minions: Rise of Gru” movie came out in July and quickly became a pop culture hit. Some find it entertaining, but it can be a bit annoying for others.
“Everyone hates Minion Day,” freshman Catie Laverty said.
On Anything But A Backpack day, students bring whatever they want to hold their school supplies – some plan on bringing tractors, tires or tables.
“Anything But a Backpack is cool; I think I’m going to bring a shopping cart,” freshman Everett Londrie said. “Pajamas are pretty good, but I’m not wearing the long shorts for Adam Sandler Day because I’m gonna look goofy.”
Friday, per usual, is Ranger Spirit Day so students can wear their mums and navy blue.
The homecoming football game is Friday, Sept. 7 p.m. against Kyle Lehman, and the homecoming dance is on Sept. 8 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the cafeteria.
