AUSTIN — After a quick score on the opening drive by Anderson, the Trojans lined up to defend their 7-0 lead, but the football team answered back with a kick return touchdown by junior cornerback Trevon Moehrig-Woodard to even the score.

The team then went on a 46-7 run into halftime, led by four passing touchdowns from senior quarterback Josh Adkins to four different receivers, as well as an interception return from senior linebacker Tyler McCracken and a punt return from Moehrig-Woodard. The second half saw less scoring, as the team outscored Anderson 7-6.

The team secured its first win after the official season opener was cancelled the previous week. The team finishes it short non-district schedule at Dragon Stadium on F Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. against the Round Rock Dragons. Round Rock shares one common opponent with the team in Clemens. Round Rock defeated Clemens 41-35 in Week 1, then lost 39-25 to state-ranked Temple in their Week 2 matchup.

The team will play Steele at home Sept. 16 to open the district schedule.
