Twenty-five track and field athletes qualified for area at District 26-5A track meet on Wednesday and Thursday at canyon. They will return to Canyon again for area next week. 

Three new school records were set at the qualifiers meet. Alyssa Jones is a district champion for the 200m dash running a 24.09. Jones is in the USA Top 25 for the 200m dash. 

AJ Breault set a record as a district champion for the 400m dash having a new PR time of 48.06, and he is a USA Top 50 for the 400m dash. Breault along with 4X100m Relay teammates Jahirey Calais, Freddie Dubose, Elijah Hudson, placed second having a new school record time of 41.72.

New PR times were set in the 400m dash by Freedie Dubose with a USA Top 50 time of 48.28, Kevon Carter had a TX Top 50 time of 49.29, and kevin Uduji also had a TX Top 50 time of 49.29.
