The varsity girls cross country team placed first for 5A at the UIL Region competition Monday and Tuesday.
Freshman Brady Solansky placed first for the 2 mile run, with a time of 18:05.58. This run guaranteed her the individual regional title.
Junior Lilly Koenig took fifth place, followed by senior Mia Perez in tenth, freshman Aubrey Pozzi in 11th and freshman Skyler Fonseca in 15th.
The school won first place overall with a total of 39 points, 40 points ahead of the runner up.
Boerne Champion’s Elizabeth Leachman, an Olympic qualifying runner, started the race, but never finished. This left the school in third overall, still qualifying for State.
The cross country team will compete at state on Nov. 2 at 10: 45 a.m. in Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
