Football defeated the New Braunfels Unicorns 29-18 on Friday at Ranger Stadium. They are set to face the MacArthur Brahmas on Friday, Nov 1, in the ninth game of the season.
The first points on the scoreboard came from a field goal scored by the Unicorns just 6:14 into the game.
Exactly four minutes later, senior Brad Sowersby scored an 11-yard touchdown run, putting up a 7-3 lead.
In the second quarter, New Braunfels scored on a one-yard touchdown run at 6:54 into the quarter. Just 1 minute later, with 5:08 remaining, senior Cade Spradling scored a 39-yard rushing touchdown, putting the Rangers ahead by four points.
The last points scored by New Braunfels occurred in the third quarter with 3:44 left, when they completed a 34-yard passing touchdown to take the lead at the end of the quarter.
Although no points were scored in the fourth quarter, Sowersby ran for a 1-yard touchdown with 10:39 left in the third quarter.
The game’s final scoring came from Spradling, who ran for a 2-yard touchdown, wrapping up the game with a final score of 29-18.
In the game, Spradling completed 5 of 7 passes for 97 yards. He also led in rushing with 9 carries for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Hunter Haug (10) caught 7 passes for 66 yards.
