The Open Division Cyberpatriot teams finished their district competition with the platinum tier team placing 14th out of 54 platinum tier teams. The team did not advance to the regional level as only seven teams advanced.

“Still, this team did an amazing job, scoring nearly perfect in the networking portion of the competition, and achieving high scores working Windows 8, 8.1, 10, Server 2008, and Ubuntu 12 and 14 operating systems configured as client and host machines,” CyberPatriot coach Keven Harshbarger said.

The two gold tier teams placed 27th out of 63 teams and 37th out of 63 teams respectively.

“Both of these teams competed with three people during the state round and had to work three different systems plus the networking exercise,” Harshbarger said. “They were amazing to watch.”

While the competition season is over, the students will continue to build their skills, meet local information technology leaders and educators, attend the San Antonio Mayor’s Cyber Cup luncheon and award ceremony, and begin prepping for the spring and summer exhibition rounds for CyberPatriot X.
