Boys soccer falls to East Central

Hudson Murphy, Staff Writer

The boys varsity soccer team took a disappointing 2-0 loss to the East Central Hornets last night after beating them 1-0 earlier in the season. The last time the two teams met a late goal was scored in the final minutes of the game to put the rangers up by 1 to finish one of the most exciting games of the season.

The team struggled in last night’s game to get many shots on on the hornets while attacking throughout the game but the hornets took advantage of a 1 on 1 opportunity toward the end of the first half scoring a goal to put them up 1-0 at halftime.

After the half the hornets quickly scored once again on a long free kick shot that deflected off the goalkeeper and went in. After the goal the team pushed forward aggressively but still failed to get many chances.

This win for the Hornets puts them at 2 wins in district on the season while the team falls to 5-2-1 in district and a 7-7-1 record overall. Their next game is against Wagner on Friday at Wagner.
