In a high scoring game last night the baseball team came away with a 9-6 victory over the Canyon Cougars on the road.

The game opened up with the team taking an early 2-1 lead after the 1st inning before going down 4-3 in the 2nd. After going through a scoreless 3rd the team exploded in the 4th and 5th innings ripping off 5 runs unanswered to take a 8-4 lead. After a scoreless 6th and a one run 7th the team came away with a 9-6 victory improving their record to 20-6 (10-2 in district) on the season.

With three games remaining in the season the team still sits one game behind the Clemens Buffaloes in the district standings. With a two game lead over New Braunfels the team is likely to lock up 2nd place while hoping for a Clemens loss to propel them into first. In order for the team to capture first though they need to win out the rest of their games.

The next game for the team takes place this Friday on the road against the Judson Rockets. First pitch will be thrown at 7:00 p.m.
