Lauren DeLoach’s culinary students served up sweet, savory and everything in between during their culinary taste testing Friday in the Blue Star Cafe.

DeLoach had her students select dishes that had special meaning or would show off their culinary skills.

Cheena Gabriel spooned chipotle short ribs over sweet potato mash for her dish.

“I chose to make this because my mom made this for me all the time at home, and I love sweet potatoes, so I put them together,” she said.

Teachers paid $6 to sample the variety of dishes during all three lunches.
