Smithson Valley football looks to assert its dominance tonight by taking on the Anderson Trojans at 7:30 p.m. under the lights of Ranger Stadium.

The Rangers come into this game with positive energy carried over from last week’s 24-20 win over Hendrickson in a contest that came down to a last second touchdown. The Trojans step onto enemy turf after last week’s 48-28 loss to McCallum.

The Trojans look to make improvements on defense, after giving up 48 points and 470 yards on the ground a week ago. Junior linebacker Nathaniel Velez put himself in position to be a leader on defense, as he finished the McCallum game with 13 tackles and an interception.

The offensive side of the ball appears to be the Trojan’s biggest strength, featuring senior quarterback Davis Adams and junior running back Coy Fullmer. Adams steps into Ranger Stadium with only one career start under his belt.

Despite the lack of starts,  he has gunslinger potential, after posting 347 yards through the air last Friday. Starting running back Coy Fullmer looks to build off an impressive sophomore season, in which he found the end zone 10 times.

The 2016 contest between the two teams saw the Rangers walk away with a lopsided 60-20 victory on Trojan turf.
