The football team shifts it focus this week to the start of district play, as they take on the Steele Knights Friday night.

The team steps onto rival turf with a record of 3-0 after coming off a commanding 50-10 win over the Round Rock Dragons last week. The team has been firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively averaging 43.3 points per game while averaging only 10 points allowed so far this season.

The Knights come into the game after a loss last week against O’Connor, which ended in a 42-30 victory for the Panthers. Steele has shown their ability to defend in the passing game, as they finished last week with 3 interceptions, including 2 from senior cornerback Jayveon Cardwell, who returned one 99 yards for a pick six. The Knights tough defense is fortified by their senior safety and Texas commit Caden Sterns.

The game takes place Friday night at Lehnhoff Stadium, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
