Team rallies to sweep Judson Rockets

Hudson Murphy and Wyatt Tomallo

The girls varsity volleyball team swept the Judson Rockets  3-0 on Tuesday improving their record to 5-1 in district and dropping Judson’s record to 1-5. With this win along with the 3-0 loss from Clemens against New Braunfels on Tuesday the team is now in a three way tie with New Braunfels and Clemens for first place in district. This gives the Rangers complete control in winning district as they are guaranteed to do so if they win the rest of their district games.

The Rangers have not faced off against Judson before this game this season, making this their first matchup. The Rangers won the first two games 25-21 followed by a dominating 25-11 in the final game to complete the sweep. Standout players in the match include Junior Tara McLeod leading the match in kills with 11, Senior Lauren Kadilis leading the match in assists with 24, and Senior Gabi Sandoval led the game in digs with 25.

The Rangers will face off against New Braunfels on Friday at 7:00 at home to end the first round of district games. The teams haven’t faced off previously in the season.
