Football aims to build off of historic win

The football team aims for a perfect 5-0 start as it takes on the East Central Hornets Friday night for this years homecoming game. The Hornets come into tonights game with an 0-4 record, as they look to bounce back from a 28-0 loss to San Marcos.

The team is coming off one of the biggest victories in recent memory as they dominated the Steele Knights on both sides of the ball last week in a 43-20 win at Lehnhoff Stadium. The win ended Steeleā€™s streak of 41 straight victories in district games.

Junior quarterback Levi Williams continued to prove why he is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the district, as he finished the game with 134 yards passing and 101 yards rushing with 3 total touchdowns. Williams and the offense look to make ease of the Hornets defense, as they have given up an average of 37.7 points per game so far this season.

The team’s defense is also preparing for a dominant game, as East Central has only managed to score an average of 15.2 points per game over the 4 losses this season.

The game takes place at Ranger Stadium, with kickoff at 7:30.
