As the holiday season draw closer the theaters continues to fill with new movies. Down below are 6 of the big films to be released in November and December.

Thor: Ragnarok

Action

Releases: Nov 3 PG -13

Thor: Ragnarok is set as the third movie in the Thor series, and features new faces. The main antagonist Hella the Goddess of death invades Thor’s home of Asgard threatening to destroy it. Thor must reunite with the Hulk, Loki, Valkyrie and more to take on Hella.

The film continues to keep the fine balance between humor and action that Marvel is well known for. It currently is receiving massively positive feedback from fans.

Justice League

Action

Releases: Nov 17 PG – 13

The Justice League film follows the events of Batman vs Superman. The film features Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash uniting to take on an Alien threat on humanity. DC is continuing its dark style with a heavy focus on action.

However the trailers do indicate that there will be some quick jokes throughout the film. Justice League is the first DC movie that unites many of the DC comics heroes.

COCO

Adventure

Releases: Nov 22 PG

Disney and Pixar team up to create COCO. The main character Miguel aspires to become a famous musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. After finding his Ernesto de la Cruz’s guitar Miguel is transported to the land of the dead and must find his way back home.

The film appears to have the same themes of family and following dreams that most Disney and Pixar films have. The movie also seems to focus heavily on comedy.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Action

Releases: Dec 15 Not yet rated

Following the huge success of Star Wars: Force Awakens and Rouge One Disney and Lucasfilms continues to share the Star Wars story. The plot follows Rey and Kylo Ren as they find their place in the force.

Minor characters however are not forgotten as Finn, BB8, Poe Dameron and Chewbacca each are featured in the trailers. The most exciting thing to come from the trailers for the movie was Porgs.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Adventure

Releases: Dec 22 PG – 13

Spencer, Bethany, Fridge and Martha are forced to clean the school basement during detention. They stumble upon the video game Jumanji; when they start the game, they become sucked into the game and are trapped in different bodies.

The four must explore the world of Jumanji to find a way out. Sony breaks the video game movie mold by having “Jumanji” be a more comedic movie that does not solely rely on a serious story line to be enjoyable.

Pitch Perfect 3

Comedy

Releases: Dec 22 PG – 13

After graduating college and splitting up the Bellas decide to reunite for one last show hosted by the USO (United Service Organizations). The girls must compete against a new kind of music, bands that use instruments. Pitch Perfect 3 is full of the same humor and accapella puns that the first two are know for, as well as the same funny character.Unlike the past movies, Pitch Perfect 3’s trailer showcase a few action scenes.
