Due to an opening at Churchill Middle School, former Academic Dean Jaime Alvarez-Calderon now is the principal as of Wednesday so former assistant principal Tammy Pinkham will take the role as Academic Dean.

“It’s been a privilege to work with and to get to know everyone,” Alvarez-Calderon said. “The faculty and staff at Smithson Valley have been one of the rewarding parts of working here.  The memories I have made over the last couple of years will be etched in the forefront of my mind forever.”

The position of assistant principal is now open and the school is working to fill the vacancy.   

“I am very excited about the opportunity for Mr. A-C as he begins a new chapter in his educational leadership career,” Principal Michael Wahl said. “Mr. A-C has been a valuable member of the SVHS Admin Team and he will be missed.”
