The boys basketball team didn’t find much luck on the road last night as they fell 55-64 to the Judson Rockets putting the team at 7-12 (0-6 in District) on the season.

Judson came into the game as the fifth best team in the city according to the San Antonio Express Power Rankings. Along with Steele, Wagner, and Clemens they are one of four teams in District 27-6A to be ranked in the top 10 in the city.

After opening up the game down 39-22 at the half the team outscored the Rockets in the second half by eight but didn’t have enough to complete a comeback.

Going forward the teams schedule only gets tougher as they continue to look for their first district win.

They host the New Braunfels Unicorns at home on Friday night before having to turn around and play the Steele Knights at home next Tuesday.

The Unicorns are playoff hopefuls as they continue to fight for the fourth spot in district with Judson while Steele sits on top of the district and is the first ranked team in city. They will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss to the Wagner Thunderbirds.

The team has yet to face New Braunfels as they await their two district meetings with the Unicorns. As for Steele the team was defeated 86-48 earlier this year.

Both upcoming games tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
