 Let’s face it: Fast food tastes way better than foods that are good for you. We have all been in a situation where we crave some sort of fast food from time to time, but just imagine how much calories are in fast food.  

According to thetoptens.com, pizza is the number one food that people like to eat. Pizza is amazing and it is a perfect food to eat at any time of day. However, caloriesecrets.net said,An average slice of pizza can provide at least 350 calories. Pizza can be high in overall calories, fat and refined carbohydrates all while being low in fiber.” Pizza can be bad for your health if consumed too often.

Another food that people love to devour is the traditional American hamburger. There are all kinds of burgers to choose from. You can even build your own and put whatever you want on it. Of course french fries with it wouldn’t hurt, would it? As stated from whataburger.com, a regular Whataburger (#1) with a side of small fries would total up to 870 calories.

Fast food may be everyone’s favorite, but it can easily get out of hand. It is easy to over eat certain things because of how it tastes. We tend to forget how many calories are in a typical American meal. When you like what you eat so much, you tend to not pay attention to how bad it is for you. This is why America is one of the most obese countries in the world. 

“The problem is when that fun stuff becomes the habit. And I think that’s what’s happened in our culture. Fast food has become the everyday meal,” said Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States.

BBC.com said, “One in six young people eat fast food twice a day, according to a survey of the nation’s eating habits.” 

It is said by many that it is better to exercise to be healthier, but it it really about what you eat. Think of the 30/70 rule: 70% of weight loss comes from eating healthy. Only 30% is from exercise.

There are ways to be a healthier person, and cutting fast food out of the picture is a good start.
