After coming out and attaining a commanding lead to start the game, football downed the Madison Mavericks with a final score of 56-21. The Mavericks had no answer for the team’s offense and besides giving up a few big runs, the defense shutdown Madison for the most part.

On the offensive side of the ball quarterback Josh Adkins tore up the Madison defense throwing for 224 yards with four touchdowns and rushing for another 52 yards and two touchdowns. Adkins came up with a season high six touchdowns as he guided the offense that looked for the most part unstoppable.

Defensively, the team was able for the most part to corral the Mavericks. The one hole in the defense Friday night was the three big run plays that went for touchdowns against them of 62, 70, and 80 yards. Despite these big plays, the team never allowed Madison to get a consistent drive going and were able to stop the Mavericks on critical downs all night.

Football now turns their attention to starting district play this Friday against the Steele Knights at Lehnoff Stadium. Steele looks to be the team’s toughest opponent this year. Both teams enter the game with 4-0 records and kickoff is at 7:30.
