Varsity boys and girls cross country squads advanced to the state championship after the boys ran away with their second consecutive regional championship, and the girls team finished as the regional runner-up team.

“Many of these kids have run over a thousand miles since the beginning of the summer in preparation for this championship season,” head coach Brittney Lanehart said.

The following athletes made the All-Region team and would have qualified as individual state qualifiers had their team not already qualified.

Clayton Wilkerson: fourth

Mason Garner: fifth

Amalie Mills: 12th

Andres Engel: 13th

Both groups will advance to the state championships on Nov. 3 in Round Rock.
