For the month of November, many artists have released new music that are a must add to your playlists and are no doubt songs you’ll be listening to for a long time. These are my personal top five new songs I’ve been listening to this month, and I’m sorry if you don’t share my opinion on music because unfortunately, you’re wrong. Keep in mind these songs are in no particular order.

  1. “Up to Something” – Travis Scott & Young Thug

Producer Metro Boomin released one of the most anticipated albums of the year with Not All Heroes Wear Capes, and the album provided some of the best hip hop songs of 2018. Although there are many highlights to the album, the song “Up to Something” is my personal favorite. With the combination of Travis Scott and Young Thug’s incredible ad libs and a great vibe to the song, I’d say it’s a must listen.

  1.  “Sunflower” – Post Malone & Swae Lee

Even though this song dropped in late October, I had to add it to the list. Post Malone and Swae Lee are a combo that no one really expected, but ended up making for a terrific song. Swae Lee makes the song enticing with his famous melody and Post Malone comes in with vocals that make you feel like you’re in the end of as happy kids movie (which is a good thing). This track has been on repeat all month for me, and its replayability is one of the things that makes it so great.

  1.  “Yeah Yeah” – Jaden Smith

Jaden Smith dropped the EP, “The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story,” on the 17th and unfortunately I didn’t enjoy much of the Karate Kid’s songs on the EP. However, I can’t deny that the song Yeah Yeah didn’t go into my playlist 20 seconds into listening to it. The chill instrumental along with Jaden’s somber vocals and a sweet chorus just happened to be a great combination. Special shout out to Will Smith who, despite being a scientologist, has a dope family.

  1.  “KIKA” – Tekashi 6ix9ine & Tory Lanez

Rapper 6ix9ine released his album “Dummy Boy” on the 27th despite being in jail facing sicx federal charges. It’s hard to deny his hit making ability and I have a hot take that this will chart for sure. This song has a beat that uses steel drums mixed with a typical hip hop beat along with 6ix9ines aggrevsive rapping that combines for a pretty good track.

  1. “Hard Work Pays Off” – Juice Wrld & Future

Another decent album that dropped in late October was the Juice Wrld and Future collab album, “Wrld on Drugs.” There were a couple stand out songs for me on this album including “Fine China”, “Astronauts” and “Realer N Realer,” but my favorite has to be the albums closing track, “Hard Work Pays Off.” This is the only song on the album where Future and Juice Wrld try out a more chill type upbeat instead of a fast paced hype song, and it came together perfectly. Juice Wrld goes back to the style that he had on his debut album, Goodbye & Good Riddance, which fans instantly loved. Future also changes to a more mellow version of himself in the track and it sounds pretty nice for his verse.
