Comal ISD will join in supporting the American Heart Association this Friday.
Everyone in the district is urged to wear red to acknowledge and support those who struggle with heart issues for American Heart Month.
“Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women,” school nurse Natalie Kuhn said. “Anytime we can bring awareness to that is welcome.”
Heart disease leads the world in deaths, accounting for one in every five deaths, and one in every 20 die from a stroke.
Heart disease takes approximately 17.9 million lives each year, and strokes take around 140 thousand.
The American Heart Association helps millions of people with their contributions, so wear red to show support.
