With only six days left of school, three seniors signed their letters of intent. This was the final signing day of the year, but Smithson Valley athletes also signed letters of intent in November, February and April.

Boys soccer

Colton Adkins signed to attend Trinity University in San Antonio. Adkins was one of three senior captains on the 2020-21 boys soccer team and he was named as part of the TASCO 2021 region 4 boys All-Star roster and a second team All-Region player. He also led the team in goals his sophomore year, when they fell to Reagan in the second round of playoffs.

Adkins continued to be a leading scorer behind Zarek Urritia in the shortened junior season, and this year he led the team in overall points with 15 goals and 12 assists.

Lacrosse

Will Ford signed to attend the University of Alabama-Huntsville to play lacrosse. He has played lacrosse for seven years, four of which he started on the varsity team at the Smithson Valley Lacrosse Club, which is affiliated with but not sponsored by the high school.

Ford was voted captain for 2021 and 2020 seasons, he was a 2021 All-State midfielder and a member of the 2019 Texas HS DII State Runner Up Team.

Football

Gabe Hoskins will attend Hiram College in Ohio. He averaged 4.39 yards per rushing attempt and scored seven rushing touchdowns this season, the second most behind quarterback Jalen Nutt. Last year, he averaged 7.32 yards per attempt and scored four touchdowns.
