The football team traveled to Round Rock on Friday for its last non-district game, but left with a 20-14 loss to the Dragons. Round Rock took an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter of play, but the team stayed in the game with a 63 yard touchdown fired by senior quarterback Josh Adkins to junior wide receiver Edwin Martinez.

At halftime Round Rock lead the team 14-7. The Dragons struck first in the early minutes of the third quarter but the team answered back with a rushing touchdown by junior running back Jaden Deaton making the score 20-14.

In the forth quarter the team continued to fight their way back with a blocked field goal attempt, recovering the ball back at their own 25 yard line. Unfortunately for the team time was not on their side, and the game ended with the final score 20-14.

The team opens district play against Steele at home on Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
