The golf team will compete at state Monday at the Legacy Hills Golf Club. Golfers including as Zach Seader, Aiden Page, Anniiston Mcllwain, Cole Cantu, and Ryan Griff will represent the boys team, while Sayers Allen will play.

Girls track claims district title; area meet this week

Junior Avianna Miller placed second in triple jump at districts, jumping 35-11.50. She also placed fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.67, third in the 200m dash with a time of 25.53, and lastly first in the 4×100 with a time of 47.62. Miller will be seen at Area competing in triple jump, the 200m dash, and the 4×100 looking to advance to Regionals.

The girls track and field team started its march back to another state championship by claiming the District 26 5A title April 3-4 at Canyon High School.
Led by elite performances from district champions Ella Pickron (pole vault) and Jazmyn Singh (400 meters), the girls took gold in the 4X100 and 4X400 relays in addition to Maycee Moody’s performance in the 100 meter hurdles.
The 4×100 relay included Moody, Avianna Miller, Karis Leyendecker and Jazmyn Singh. The 4×400 relay was run by Izabella Sutherland, Lilly Koenig, Mia Perez and Jazmyn Singh.
Senior Jaxson Maynard repeated as the district champion in discus.

Basesball 

Baseball currently is on a three-game winning streak after defeating Veterans Memorial 15-0 on April 2 and then again on Friday. The Rangers defeated Canyon 11-1 on Tuesday to maintain their first place hold on District 26-5A. Baseball travels to Canyon for their second district game.

 

 

Softball

The softball team currently has a 10 game win streak and is ranked first in district with a record of 10-1 and an overall record of 23-6.  On Tuesday,  the team played Veterans Memorial and won 8-4. The team set the tone in the first inning with 3 runs to base and another 3 runs in the second inning. Pitcher Ariana Capek has a total of 7 innings pitched and 6 total strike outs.

The team will look to continue their win streak this Friday at Canyon. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
