In the first game of the 2024-2025 season, the Rangers defeated the Roosevelt Rough Riders Thursday with a score of 45-0. The first half was dominated by the Rangers, who scored 35 points.
The game kicked off with a kick return by WR Brody Day, advancing the ball to the 40-yard line. After a solid drive down the field, RB Brad Sowersby scored a one-yard rushing touchdown to put the Rangers up by 7 on the first drive with 9:13 left in the first quarter.
On the next possession, QB Cade Spradling delivered a 39-yard rushing touchdown, evading off two different defenders.
DE Truth Duval-El recovered a fumble with 6:05 left in the first quarter, which set the Rangers up with great field position on the Rough Riders’ 32-yard line. RB Daniel De Hoyos took advantage of this field position and scored a 4-yard touchdown with 2:39 left in the first quarter.
WR Diego Davilla scored on a punt return to extend the Rangers’ domineering lead to 28-0 with 2:09 left in the first quarter.
Day caught a 52-yard passing touchdown from Spradling to score the first touchdown of the second quarter, putting the Rangers up 35-0. To end the second quarter, K Trent Amaya delivered with a 30-yard field goal, increasing the lead to 38-0.
With 9:02 left in the third quarter, LB Colton Hornsby ended the Rangers’ scoring game with a pick-6 putting the final nail in the Rough Riders coffin and ending the game at 45-0.
